Big Brother 28: Yash Wins Again, and Drew Takes His Shot

Well, that was quite a night in the Big Brother house. After the craziness of the medieval twist and Haley’s surprise elimination, the game finally got back to something resembling normal. Of course, “normal” in the Big Brother house still means alliances falling apart, people lying to each other, and somebody making a decision that could completely change the game!

First, we finally got to the conclusion of the medieval competition. Barrett decided to send Yash back into the year 1000 to compete against Haley and LaLa, and Yash absolutely delivered. He won the competition and, rather brutally, chose to eliminate Haley. I should have felt bad for Haley because she had been fighting so hard to stay in the game, but Yash knew exactly what he was doing. With Haley gone, the jury phase officially began.
Then it was time for the new HOH competition, and this one was right up Drew’s alley. Zingbot returned, roasted basically everyone in the house, and then sent them into a competition based on his trip through time. Drew, Yash, and Melody ended up tied heading into the tiebreaker, and Drew came closest to the correct answer. Just like that, Drew was HOH.

And suddenly the Crossovers had a problem.

Drew nominated Yash, LaLa, and Taylor, which made sense for his game. Yash was the obvious target, and Drew didn’t want to make things more complicated than necessary. But Yash had other plans!
Of course he did!

The Power of Veto competition sent the houseguests back to 1849, where they had to carry gold nuggets across a balance beam. It looked deceptively simple, but one mistake meant starting all over. Yash took the slow-and-steady approach and, once again, it worked. He won the Power of Veto. At this point, can somebody please stop giving this man competitions?

With Yash taking himself off the block, Drew had to name a replacement. There were plenty of options, including Melody and Dee, and this is where things got interesting. Melody was worried Drew might actually put her up, while Dee seemed determined to convince him that Melody was the right choice.

But Drew ultimately went with the easiest option: Devens.
The funny part is that Devens volunteered for it. He thought being a pawn could help protect the Icons while giving him a chance to make a big move. Drew decided to take him up on the offer.

Now Devens is sitting on the block next to Taylor and LaLa, and suddenly the Icons are in a more endangered position than they were a few days ago!

Player of the Week: Yash. Winning the medieval competition and then following it up with the Power of Veto? That’s a pretty impressive week.

Oops of the Week: Devens. Volunteering to be a pawn is always risky, but volunteering when the house is this divided could come back to bite him.

And now we head into the first jury eviction. I have a feeling Thursday night is going to get messy!
