NCIS Universe Is Expanding Once Again

The NCIS Universe is expanding once more. There’s another spin-off coming to CBS’s  Tuesday night lineup for the Fall. LL Cool J is revising his role from the now-defunct NCIS: Los Angeles. Retired Navy SEAL Sam Hanna is heading to the East Coast. G will be going to the New York office. The show NCIS: New York is slated to take over the 9 PM slot right after the original show, but before NCIS: Origins on Tuesday nights. LL Cool J will be the lead/co-lead, the same as he was on the Los Angeles show.

The character Sam Hanna was and is a fan favorite character, much like Leroy Jethro Gibbs, who is very much loved by fans, and they keep hoping to see him. Maybe he could either show up as the new NCIS director or Deputy Director of NCIS now that Leon Vance has passed. Sadly, we will not be seeing G Callen. The actor Chris O’ Donnell, who played G, is now the lead on Ryan Murphy’s 9-1-1 Nashville. He went from portraying a federal agent to portraying a firefighter. He’s the captain of Fire Station 113.

The sixth spin-off will be NCIS: New York. Scott Caan from Hawaii Five-0 will be co-starring alongside LL Cool J.

Deadline disclosed,” NCIS: New York came together very quickly, taking about five months from the first conversations with LL Cool J about it to a series greenlight with a completed script that had gone through revisions, a co-lead cast, a showrunner hired, and everyone involved locked in with closed deals.”

New York

This writer was very disheartened when NCIS: Los Angeles was cancelled. It will be intriguing to see how Sam Hanna adapts to being in New York. Also, to see him for more than about 20 minutes as a guest. With Spring Season shows ending for the Summer, it will be satisfying when Fall comes around and to witness the expansion of the NCIS universe alongside a familiar and favorite character.
