Big Brother 28: Double Eviction Night Turns the House Upside Down
Double Eviction
Well, Big Brother really said, “You thought you were tired? HOLD MY DIARY ROOM CHAIR.” Tonight was double eviction night, and goodness gracious, did they pack a lot into two hours! After Yash’s HOH week left Barrett, Drew, and Melody fighting for their games, the first question was who would win the final BB Block Buster of the season. With only seven houseguests remaining, every competition and every vote suddenly mattered more than ever.
BB Block Buster
The BB Block Buster was a gimbal-style competition that required the players to maneuver balls into their tubes. Barrett was the first player to get a ball into his tube, but Melody quickly took the lead and held on. She struggled a little getting that final ball where it needed to go, but she finally did it! Melody won the BB Block Buster, saving herself and leaving Barrett and Taylor on the block. And OH, did that change everything! Melody had been sitting on the block and suddenly had safety, while Barrett was left fighting for his life.
First Eviction Vote
The first eviction vote was basically a showdown between Barrett and Taylor, and Barrett made one last attempt to convince everyone that keeping him would be good for their games. He even reminded them that having him around could give them a shield and someone they could beat later. Unfortunately for him, his big move against the Icons last week had come back to bite him. The votes came in 3–1, and Barrett was evicted, with only Melody voting to evict Taylor. Barrett’s HOH had been one of the biggest moves of the season, but it ultimately ended up putting a giant target on his back.
And then, because apparently Big Brother wanted to see how much chaos we could handle in one night, it was immediately time for another HOH competition! Double Eviction night it is! Melody went from being on the block to winning the Block Buster to becoming the new Head of Household. The competition, called “Bleeping Through Time,” tested the houseguests on statements from past and present players, with a word or phrase bleeped out. They had to determine whether Julie’s stated word or phrase was true or false. After a tight competition, Melody won again! GIRL HAD A NIGHT!
Melody wasted absolutely no time
Melody wasted absolutely no time with her new power and nominated Dee and Devens, putting the two remaining Icons in danger. But Devens was not about to let that happen without a fight. He won the Power of Veto in the “Great Ball of China” competition, where the players assembled a puzzle and then had to make a skill shot with a stone ball. Devens nailed the puzzle and made the shot on his first try, winning the Veto and saving himself. Melody then had to name a replacement nominee, and she put Yash on the block.
That left Dee and Yash fighting for their lives, and Drew became the deciding vote. After everything that had happened between him and Yash, Drew ultimately voted to evict Yash, sending him to the jury by a 2–1 vote. And just like that, Yash was gone! The man who had won HOH, survived the first round of the double, and spent weeks navigating the BB Bribe ended the night sitting beside Barrett in the jury house.
Player of the Episode: Melody. I mean…COME ON. She won the Block Buster. Survived the first eviction, won the second HOH, made nominations, and sent one of the nominees home.
Oops Award: Drew. Sir. You had a chance to keep Yash. And now the man who was making secret deals with you is sitting in the jury house. GOOD GRIEF!
Five people remain, and after tonight, there is absolutely nowhere left to hide. The endgame is HERE!
