The RHONY OGs Are Back and Still Causing Chaos: Turtle Time in Palm Beach
For longtime Real Housewives of New York City fans, The Golden Life feels less like a new show. And more like a long-overdue reunion brunch that somehow turns into a three-day bender.
Starring original icons Luann de Lesseps, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, and Sonja Morgan, the E! docuseries brings the women to Palm Beach! Where the sun is hot, the social calendars are hotter! And the grudges have been marinating since the Obama administration.
The RHONY OGs
The premise of The Golden Life is simple on paper! Five legendary Housewives navigating life, love, and friendship in their so-called “golden years.” But if RHONY taught us anything, it’s that these women don’t do anything simply.
Palm Beach may be calmer than Manhattan.
But give this group one charity luncheon and a seating chart and suddenly it’s Season 3 all over again. As Luann confidently announced when the show was revealed, “We’re back, darlings!” A phrase that should honestly be embroidered on every throw pillow in Florida.
The RHONY OG’s Bring Style
Each cast member brings her signature chaos. Ramona Singer, still allergic to self-reflection. She promises plenty of what she lovingly calls “turtle time.” This loosely translates to inappropriate comments, awkward flirting, and pretending she didn’t just offend someone.
Sonja Morgan, meanwhile, is living proof that age is just a number and interns are forever. Expect townhouse references, business ventures that may or may not exist. And at least one scene where Sonja insists she’s “totally fine” while clearly not being fine.
Then there’s Jill Zarin, who is thrilled to be back in the mix and very ready for action. Jill has teased that the group is revisiting old dynamics. Meaning this is code for “I still remember everything and I hope you do too.”
She’s described the show as a chance to reconnect, but fans know reconnection on RHONY usually comes with raised voices and someone storming off in oversized sunglasses.
Kelly Bensimon, eternally in her own lane, summed up the announcement with a wide-eyed “It’s really happening!” With the same energy she’s brought since Scary Island. Kelly’s presence alone guarantees moments that leave viewers blinking at their screens asking, “Did I miss something?” The answer, as always with Kelly, is no! It just happened.
Last But Not Forgotten
And anchoring the group is Luann, who continues to glide through life with Countess confidence, cabaret flair. Along with the remarkable ability to turn any disagreement into a lesson in etiquette.
Sources hint that Luann’s dating life becomes a recurring topic. Proving once again that confidence, and a well-timed rendition of “Money Can’t Buy You Class” , never goes out of style.
As for spoilers, early buzz suggests The Golden Life doesn’t shy away from unresolved tension. Old wounds reopen, friendships are tested, and the women confront what it really means to grow older in the public eye.
All while still arguing about who said what, where, and ten years ago. There’s romance, laughter, and just enough chaos to remind fans why this group set the gold standard for Housewives television.
In the end, The Golden Life isn’t about slowing down. It’s about proving that these women were never meant to. They’re older, wiser (arguably), and just as unfiltered.
Palm Beach may think it’s ready, but history suggests otherwise. After all, this is RHONY — and the golden years were never going to be quiet. ✨
