Big Brother 28: The Diamond Shines, Angela Survives, and Kamu Goes Home!

Big Brother 28

Thursday night’s live eviction episode delivered exactly the kind of chaos that makes Big Brother so much fun to watch. After Rick Devens used his Diamond Power of Veto to remove Dee from the block and replace her with Kamu, the house was left scrambling to figure out what to do. Suddenly, the three nominees were Kamu, Angela, and Haley, and nobody could be completely sure which way the vote would go. The biggest question of the night was whether Kamu could save himself in the BB Block Buster…or whether Devens had finally succeeded in taking out one of his biggest threats.

BB Block Buster

The BB Block Buster turned out to be another memorable competition. Kamu, Angela, and Haley each competed in their own cylinders while colorful balls were being blown around them. Their goal was to collect and sort the balls, getting ten red balls into one tube and ten yellow balls into another before hitting their buzzer. It was a competition that required speed, coordination, and the ability to stay focused while everything around you was moving. And Angela absolutely came through when she needed it most, becoming the sixth houseguest to win the BB Block Buster. Her victory pulled her off the block and left Kamu and Haley as the final two nominees.

Angela was safe

Once Angela was safe, the entire house seemed to shift toward one conclusion: Kamu had to go. What made the situation so interesting was that Kamu had entered the week as one of the more influential players in the house. He had helped shape Yash’s nominations, had information about Dee’s power, and had been working hard to position himself in the middle of several different groups. But Devens’ Diamond Power of Veto had completely changed the equation. Now, the very move that Kamu had helped set in motion had left him sitting on the block. Talk about a backfire!

As the houseguests cast their votes, the outcome was surprisingly decisive. Kamu was evicted by an 8–1 vote, with only LaLa voting to keep him. That was a pretty stunning reversal for someone who had looked like he might be one of the major power players of the season. I have to admit, I thought Kamu had positioned himself extremely well after the Lyric blindside, so seeing his game unravel this quickly was quite a shock.

Kamu’s eviction

Kamu’s eviction also means Rick Devens’ Diamond Power move was a huge success. He didn’t simply save Dee; he used the power to remove a major threat while simultaneously protecting one of his closest allies. That’s the kind of move that can completely reshape a season. The question now is whether Devens has made himself too visible in the process.

Player of the Episode: Angela Murray. I mean, come on! Winning the BB Block Buster when your game is on the line and then watching your biggest threat walk out the door is a pretty fantastic night. Angela has had plenty of chaotic moments this season, but tonight she delivered exactly when she needed to.

Oops Award

Oops Award: Kamu Kirk. This one hurts. Kamu went from helping influence the nominations to becoming the replacement nominee and ultimately the sixth person evicted. He had been playing a complicated game from the middle, but this time the strategy simply blew up in his face.

The game is officially wide open again, and after tonight’s massive power shift, I cannot wait to see who grabs control next!
