Big Brother 27: The Last Zing Recap

A big theme of tonight’s episode of Big Brother 27 was the brewing discomfort around Vince and Morgan’s relationship. The house starts whispering about “emotional cheating,†a phrase Keanu uses. Keanu even made an offhand joke about this being “Big Brother, not Cheat Island.†Vince, of course, insists everything is platonic and that there’s no game-turned-romance going on.

Zingbot was back, BABY! Zingbot was super spicy this season. Teasing the houseguests with his classic zings. Zingbot really roasted Vince and Morgan. Houseguests were zinged left and right. Lauren was called boring, and Kelley was roasted for being creepy. I did not get that one. Keanu was made fun of for his feet, smell, and apparently some unsanitary bathroom habits. Ashley was teased about being a clinger to Rachel and a follower.

Vince-Morgan dynamic

But the Vince-Morgan dynamic was central in the roast, and Zingbot saved Morgan’s roast for last. Let’s just say she was so pissed after her zing that she just walked into the kitchen and started slicing the pizza. All while Zingbot was still standing there.

Next up: the HOH competition. “The Last Zing†was a classic true/false memory-based competition. The competition was based on the movie “The Last Zing.†Vince and Kelley were neck and neck. Kelley really thought she had this one, but in the end, after a tiebreaker, Vince came out on top. He adds another HOH win to his resume this season.

Morgan pushed Vince to nominate Lauren in his initial nominations, since Lauren had never been on the block. Vince was conflicted. He seemed like betraying Lauren would be too hard on him. Vince tried to convince Lauren to volunteer to go on the block, but she did not buy it. Vince ended up nominating Ava, Kelley, and Keanu for eviction this week. This is the final Blockbuster eviction.

The Power of Veto

The Power of Veto really shook things up when Morgan won POV. Morgan gave Vince an ultimatum ,forcing Vince to pick between showing gratitude/loyalty to Lauren and securing Morgan’s favor. He picks Morgan. Morgan used the veto to remove Ava Pearl from the block after she convinced Vince to renom Lauren. Vince does end up replacing Ava with Lauren. Morgan is pleased with the move — it gives her more leverage.

Overall, this was an important episode in terms of setting the stage for what will be a big shake-up come eviction night. The relationship between Vince and Morgan is being scrutinized, loyalties are being tested, and the fact that Lauren is now on the block (after never being nominated before) opens a real possibility for her to be blindsided.

Thursday’s live episode is going to be a wild one, so hold on because it’s Double Eviction night, BABY!! Who are you rooting for now that we have made it to the jury?
