Barrett Takes the Shot—and Angela Takes the Walk
Well, Barrett took his shot at the Icons, and tonight we finally found out whether that big move would pay off. After putting Angela, Dee, and Devens on the block, Barrett knew the Power of Veto could completely change the week. But when Yash won the Power of Veto, he had the power to completely derail Barrett’s plan. Instead, Yash decided not to use it, leaving all three Icons on the block and guaranteeing that at least one of them would be going home. Suddenly, the biggest question of the night was which Icon would survive.

Barrett
The Veto meeting brought plenty of campaigning, with all three nominees making their cases to Yash. Angela, Dee, and Devens each had their own reasons for wanting Yash to use the Veto, but he ultimately stuck with his decision. That meant there would be no replacement nominee, and all three Icons would have to battle it out in the BB Block Buster. I have to admit, there was something pretty satisfying about watching these three players, who have had so much control over the game, suddenly having to fight for their lives. For once, the rest of the house wasn’t scrambling around trying to figure out how to break up the Icons. Barrett had put them all in the same danger zone and let the competition decide who stayed.

BB Block Buster
And then came the BB Block Buster, which was a puzzle competition. Angela, Dee, and Devens had to race to complete the puzzle, knowing that the winner would earn safety and send the other two to the houseguests for the final eviction vote. This was a HUGE moment for Devens because he had already survived one Block Buster earlier in the season. Once again, he came through when he absolutely had to. Devens won the BB Block Buster, saving himself and leaving Angela and Dee as the final two nominees.

That left the house with a pretty clear decision to make. Angela had certainly made her mark on the season, but her game had finally caught up with her. With Devens safe and Dee sitting beside Angela, the votes came down to whether the house wanted to keep Angela around or finally send one of the original Icons to the jury. In the end, Angela’s game came to an end, and she was evicted from the Big Brother house.
Angela
I have to admit, Angela’s eviction feels like the end of a pretty significant chapter of this season. She has been loud, entertaining, frustrating, emotional, strategic, and occasionally completely unpredictable. You could never really ignore Angela when she was in the room, and that’s exactly the kind of player who makes a season memorable. But Barrett’s HOH proved that the Icons weren’t untouchable anymore, and tonight’s eviction made that official. One of the three is gone, and the remaining two are going to have to figure out how to survive without their original trio intact.

Player of the Episode: Devens. Winning the BB Block Buster when his entire game was on the line was exactly what Devens needed to do. Twice now, he’s managed to win that competition when he absolutely had to.
Oops Award: Angela. Unfortunately, being one of the biggest names in the house finally caught up with her. Barrett took the shot, Yash refused to use the Veto, Devens saved himself, and Angela ended up taking the walk.

Although, can I just say… what were they thinking, keeping Dee over Angela?!
And just like that, one of the Icons is officially headed to the jury! Barrett’s big move worked, and the game looks completely different now. With only two Icons left, everybody’s cards are on the table…and I have a feeling the next HOH competition is going to be VERY important. As always, Big Brother has reminded us to expect the unexpected!
