Big Brother 28: Barrett Finds the Pot of Gold and Puts the Icons on the Block!

Well, Big Brother finally did what it has been threatening to do all season: the Icons are officially in danger! After LaLa’s eviction Thursday night, the houseguests headed into a new week knowing the power structure was finally starting to crack. And when Barrett won his very first Head of Household competition, he had a golden opportunity to make the kind of move the newer players have been talking about for weeks.

Head of Household

The Head of Household competition had a perfect St. Patrick’s Day theme, with rainbows, colorful balls, and plenty of frantic scrambling. The houseguests had to maneuver their differently colored balls down a long, wavy ramp track, trying to land each ball in the section of the rainbow that matched its color. It looked simple enough at first, but the track’s curves and slopes made controlling the balls surprisingly tricky. A ball could roll farther than expected or end up in the wrong section, forcing the player to keep working until they could get the right colors where they belonged.

Competitions

It was one of those competitions where patience and precision mattered just as much as speed…and with HOH on the line this late in the game, every misplaced ball was potentially costly. But when it came down to it, Barrett got everything lined up at the right time and won the competition–his first HOH win!

Of course, you have your usual house discussions and one-on-ones with the HOH as everyone wonders who is going to go up on the block. Barrett didn’t promise everyone safety, and that made some people nervous. At one point, Barrett, Dee, Drew, Melody, Devens, Yash, and Angela were in the HOH room, which quickly turned into The Great BB Bribe Debate of 2026. The houseguests spent what felt like FOREVER going back and forth about exactly what Yash had agreed to when he accepted Dee’s Bribe.

Who was protected?

Who was protected? What had actually been promised? And, perhaps most importantly, who was telling the truth? Dee was not about to let the issue slide. And she made it very clear that she was angry about the whole situation. What started as a twist advantage from earlier in the season suddenly became a major topic of conversation as everyone tried to figure out what the Bribe meant for Barrett’s HOH–and whether it would affect his nominations.

Barrett decided to take a huge swing and put all three remaining Icons: Angela, Dee, and Devens on the block. Barrett’s nominations immediately changed the mood in the house. For weeks, the Icons have managed to keep themselves protected. While the Crossovers and other newer players knocked each other out. Now, suddenly, all three of them are vulnerable at the same time.

Risk Involved

Barrett knew there was risk involved, but he also knew that opportunities like this don’t come around often. If he could get one of the biggest threats in the game out, he could completely reshape the season. And honestly? GOOD FOR HIM. It was about time somebody stopped talking about taking a shot and actually picked up the gun…okay, metaphorically!

Player of the Episode: Barrett
No question. Barrett finally got the HOH he needed and then actually used it. After weeks of hearing people talk about taking a shot at the Icons. Barrett had the opportunity to do something about it–and he didn’t blink. Winning the St. Patrick’s Day rainbow HOH was impressive enough, but putting all three Icons on the block? That’s a power move. Whether it works out for him remains to be seen, but Barrett officially put his stamp on this week.

Oh, Dee.

I understand why she was mad about the Bribe situation, and she had every right to be frustrated. BUT…girl, you spent approximately four years in the HOH room talking about it. The more everybody talked about what Yash had promised, the more complicated and uncomfortable the whole situation became. And then Barrett walked away with all that information and three very obvious targets. Maybe not the best outcome for Dee!

Now what will happen next? Who knows?! All we know is that the Veto Comp is the classic BB Comics, so be sure to tune in Wednesday! We all know it…expect the unexpected!
