Rocking the Ballroom

The ballroom sparkled with extra flair as the remaining eight couples took the stage for “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night.†This week’s episode included a guest judge appearance by rock-music legend and Hall of Fame inductee Flavor Flav, who joined veteran judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli on the panel and helped evaluate both the couples’ individual dances and the first-ever team dance round of the season.

The show began with each pair performing an unlearned dance, all set to iconic rock or rock-adjacent tracks, and then split into two teams for a freestyle team performance with their pro partners and a host joining in. The scoring from the guest judge and main judges was combined with audience votes to determine who would go home.

Individual Dance

Here’s how the individual dance scores stacked up:

Dylan Efron & Daniella Karagach kicked things off with a Jive to I’m Still Standing by Elton John, earning 36/40 (Carrie Ann Inaba 8, Derek Hough 9, Bruno Tonioli 9, Flavor Flav 10).

Alix Earle & Val Chmerkovskiy took on a Paso Doble to Livin’ on a Prayer by Bon Jovi and scored 39/40 (three 10s and a 9 from Flavor Flav).

Whitney Leavitt & Mark Ballas also earned 39/40 with a Paso Doble to No More Tears by Ozzy Osbourne (Carrie Ann gave 9, others 10s).

Jordan Chiles & Ezra Sosa delivered a Jazz routine to River Deep – Mountain High by Ike & Tina Turner and picked up 38/40.

Danielle Fishel & Pasha Pashkov took on a Contemporary routine to Dream On by Aerosmith and scored 34/40 (Carrie Ann 9, Derek Hough 8, Bruno Tonioli 8, Flavor Flav 9).

Andy Richter & Emma Slater danced a Contemporary to God Only Knows by The Beach Boys and earned 30/40.

A lively dance performance with energetic dancers in coordinated outfits.

Team Dances

Then came the team dances, which added an extra layer of excitement. The couples were split into two teams:

Team Chicago (captained by Danielle & Pasha, joined by Whitney & Mark, Jordan & Ezra, Dylan & Daniella, plus host Alfonso Ribeiro) danced to 25 or 6 to 4 by Chicago and achieved a perfect 40/40.

Team Kool (captained by Andy & Emma, joined by Robert & Witney, Alix & Val, Elaine & Alan, plus host Julianne Hough) danced to Celebration by Kool & the Gang and scored 38/40.

The guest judge, Flavor Flav, brought big energy and bold visuals to the night, but he also stirred commentary. While the other judges offered detailed feedback, Flavor Flav’s commentary was more about vibe and rock spirit than technical critique. He admitted afterward that he accidentally gave Alix & Val a 9 instead of a 10, and couldn’t change it once submitted.

When scores and viewer votes were tallied, Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov were eliminated. Despite a spirited performance and a strong team dance backing. It was a bittersweet farewell.

It was a vibrant, emotional week full of high-energy jives, fiery paso dobles, and elegant waltzes. A rock-and-roll-charged guest judge turned up the volume in the ballroom. I can’t wait to see how the competition heats up from here.
