Taylor Haag, LIB8, questions fiance over Instagram follow
Love Is Blind’s eighth Season premiered on Valentine’s Day, which coincides with the hit show’s fifth anniversary. That’s right, season 1 also premiered on Valentine’s Day. If you are new to the show, the concept is to see if love is truly blind.
Taylor Haag
Daniel Hasting and Haag quickly became each other’s number one in the pods. They connected over their values, favorite holidays, and family. Fans hoped they would take it to the altar ending with both saying ‘I DO’.
Taylor wished this as well at the beginning.
In the pods, it looked like they were both meant to be. During their fourth date in the pods; the conversation went to their social media. Daniel confessed his love of posting
Christmas pictures that he used to design his own Christmas cards.
Taylor Haag First Ask Question
Haag asked Hastings directly if he had ever followed her on the social media platform Instagram. Daniel denied the question stating “I can’t imagine that I do. I have a weird memory when it comes to Instagram handles. And I can picture the person’s profile picture in my head…I would recognize your handle and I don’t.”
After saying YES to Hastings’s proposal the newly engaged couple prepares to meet each other for the first time. Just before the reveal, Taylor states “I hope he isn’t too short.” Finding him a little shorter he tells the cameras “Oh well I wear heels less.”
Episode 6 has Taylor in the Women’s Hotel telling fans that once she sees him; he looks familiar to her. She says she was up most of the night with this in her head. She states “I see a picture of him sitting in a chair by a fireplace with a drink in his hand and a Christmas tree in the background. ”
“The primary concern here was that he knew what I looked like during the experiment,” she tells GLAMOUR “I’m guilty too of judging people by their looks and I’m sure it has been done to me. I wanted that to be removed completely from the entire situation…So the thought of that premise being compromised was terrifying to me.”
The Couple Debate The Question
The couple sat down in what looked like a cafeteria in the Women’s Hotel to once again discuss this dilemma. He once again denies knowing her Instagram handle or following her. He tells her there is no picture of him sitting in a chair with a drink in front of a fireplace.
This writer looked at both their Instagram accounts for proof of said picture. On Taylor’s, there were no pictures of the couple together, On Daniel’s, this picture was found. He is in a chair but with a book and a beautiful-looking cat. Fans jumped to his defense.
Love Is Blind hosts, Nick and Vanessa weighed in on the cliffhanger. Nick doesn’t think it was a big deal. Whereas Vanessa understands where she is coming from. Vanessa, also, points out how much Social Media impacts a relationship nowadays.
Both hosts told the US Magazine that each season they pick a couple to root for; this season was this couple. Nick said, “Each season is unique in its way; which is why we love it.” It seems fans love it for the same reason.
Love Is Blind airs on Netflix. Episodes 7 -9 drop on February 21st; episodes 10 & 11 drop on February 28th; the season finale drops on March 7th. Netflix drops the episodes at 3 AM ET
