Survivor 47 End Game airing over 2 weeks

Since 2000 fans have seen a lot of changes to one of the most popular reality shows aired. With ‘New Era’ Survivor there has been changes nearly every season. The only constant since the show started has been the 3 hour finale.

Normally the finale show airs the remaining 4 at the last competition. The winner of that competition chooses who they will take to Final 3, the remaining 2 building ‘Fire’ to secure their spot. The jury is brought in to ask questions. The vote takes place.

Jeff reads the votes and announces the winner. The earlier seasons this was done live at a reunion show in LA. Winners At War were done over Zoom, as part of the covid protocol. The ‘New Era’ has an after party on location. It seems Survivor and CBS are switching it up again.

This season the Finale will air over 2 weeks. Part 1 will air on December 11th for two hours. With Part 2 airing on December 18th for 2 hours. The only good news with this 2 part Finale will be getting to bed an hour earlier after the winner is crowned.

Survivor 47 End Game and CBS

CBS started airing 90 minute episodes during the actor/writers strike. Not only did the episodes switch to 90 minutes but a few 2 hour episodes were thrown in for good measure. These moves allowed CBS to fill prime time air slots.

Splitting the show’s Finale means the show will break from its 13 week tradition to 14 weeks.

This season is still anyone’s game. Any of the remaining castaways could be crowned sole survivor. Genevieve may now be seen as a mastermind, after orchestrating Sol Yi‘s departure last week.

Gabe, seemingly, has control over the four remaining ‘Tuku Tribe’ castaways. Teeny, Sam, and Rachel have established themselves as ‘The Gamers’. All are playing to keep themselves from becoming major targets in the game.

That’s not to leave Andy, Kyle and Sue out of the mix. Who knows another ‘Alligabler’ aka Mike Gabler (Survivor 43 winner), making it possible for one of these three castaways to be crowned the winner of this season.

Survivor airs on CBS and Paramount Plus Wednesdays 8 PM ET. It streams the next day on Paramount Plus.
