Fans of the hit Australian children’s show “Bluey” can rejoice, as it has been confirmed that the beloved blue heeler will be returning for a fourth season. While details are still scarce, there are a few things we do know about what to expect in the upcoming season.
First and foremost, fans can look forward to more heartwarming and hilarious adventures with Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, Chilli, and all their friends. The show’s creator Joe Brumm has promised that Season 4 will continue to explore themes of family, friendship, and imagination in a fun and relatable way.
After the season 3 finale Parents and children were panicking thinking that this was it for their favorite show. A few weeks ago, Bluey Producer Sam Moor told BBC that there is more coming from Bluey and her family. “No, it is not the end for Bluey. I’m sure we have many more surprises in store for you. We have more in store and we are thinking what would be next.”
Bluey started to air in 2018 on Australia’s ABC Kids. It is now has streamed 20 billion minutes on Disney+ in the United States. Bluey which originated in Australia has now reached 60 countries worldwide including the U.S., The U.K., and China.
2 weekends ago fans watched the penultimate 28-minute episode titled “The Sign” and this past weekend was the finale episode called ” Surprise.” If you are a fan of the show then you know The Sign was like watching a movie, Normally episodes are only 7 minutes long. How season 3 ended will bring us into season 4 with a few questions hopefully to be answered.
The producers have ensured that there will be more Bluey but there is no timeline set as of right now. Executive Producer Daley Pearson spoke with Australia’s Courier Mail and said that the entire team will be taking a much-needed break. They did make 150 episodes in during the entire 3 seasons. Daley said, “We are just going to get our heads on a bit, it’s been four or five years and we’ve made 154 episodes, it is kind of unprecedented to do that back-to-back. It was very intense. We are just coming to the end of season three and trying to think about what’s the best way to make it better.”
The cast that will be returning for season 4 will be, David McCormack as Bluey’s dad, Bandit, and Melanie Zanetti as Blueys om Chili. The roles played of Bluey, and her sister Bingo are all played by Children of the production company and have never been named according to Joe Brumm. Also returning will be Dan Brumm, Myf Warhurst, Patrick Brammall, Claudia O’Doherty, and Chris Brumm who all play Bluey’s other family members.
2 years ago Melanie Zanetti told PEOPLE, “I love how much America has embraced this little Aussie show, It’s a testament to our creator Joe Brumm, his vision, his writing, and his ability to tap into that very specific time of life with all of its beauty and absurdity and hilarity.”
The penultimate episode “The Sign” left us fans wondering what’s going to happen next for Bluey and her family. We watched as Radley Heeler who is Bandit’s brother married Frisky. The family was also pondering on making a big move to Brisbane where Bandit was offered a job. The family especially Chili was having a hard time deciding what to do.
The episode was named after the “For Sale ” that was put up in front of the Heeler’s home. David McCormack spoke about the storyline and told the L.A. Times, “Everyone is trying to make the best decision at that time and you’re going to make mistakes. I think that for me the underlying feeling of this episode is you’ve just got to try and do your best. You’re going to get it wrong sometimes.”
“The Sign” did end on a happy note when Bandit went up to the sign and tore it out of the ground. They decided to stay in their home. Now the other episode called “Surprise ” left fans like myself wondering about a few things. such as a grown-up Bluey coming home with a special guest: her future child. Fans were debating on social media who was the father and how Bluey looked just like her dad.
Joe Brumm and company have not revealed any plot details but He did speak to Deadline regarding how BLUey would look in the future, He tells them, “It would be fascinating — and we get a lot of requests to age the characters up. “It would completely change the show, but there would be something really sweet about bringing through the new younger characters and having Bluey and Bingo at that babysitting age. That would definitely make a bunch of fans very happy.”
Now since the two episodes have aired parents have been wondering why the series had ended especially with the last episode. A fan of the show went on X and wrote, “For a show that isn’t ending, the last two eps sure FELT like a series finale + epilogue.” Another fan followed suit and said, ” I agree.”
Additionally, it has been hinted that some new characters may be introduced in Season 4, adding even more excitement to the mix. With its clever writing, charming characters, and positive messages for kids and parents alike, “Bluey” is sure to continue capturing hearts in its upcoming season. So mark your calendars and get ready for more fun with Bluey – she’ll be back before you know it!
I know in my home we are all looking forward to season 4 and what it will bring us. My granddaughter has been watching Bluey since she was 2 months old and she is now 4 going 5. The show has helped her to speak and learn about playing games. She uses her imagination which for her being autistic is wonderful.
