It’s been a tough few years for Abby Lee Miller, she has served time in Federal prison, her health has declined since her days on “Dance Mom’s” Miller, and was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago, she has since used a wheelchair to get around. Abby seems to finally be getting back on track these days.
She is getting a new reality series where she is looking for a new dance troupe and they will compete on “Mad House” her new show. In a new trailer for Mad House, Abby Lee explains “I am not looking for an elite team anymore. I’m looking for a professional working group of dancers,” Abby Lee continues “It’s not about plastic trophies anymore, it’s all about my mission, training working, employable dancers,” the icon said in a statement “And no moms allowed.
I’ve had enough of the moms who think they know what’s best for their kids.
I’ve been there and done that. Now these young adults fend for themselves. Will they show me they can be a star? Can they survive a house mother from hell!? Well, we will see, won’t we?”
Mad House will begin on September 29, on a new streaming app called Brandon TV which also premieres that same day. Brandon Stewart, founder and executive producer said “Mad House is a hybrid series.
You get to learn about the dancer’s personal lives, but you also get the intensity of competition from all of the challenges each week,” Stewart continued, “We had an idea about what the show would look and feel like before we started filming, but the strong personalities on the show led us into a new direction. A series that really does bring Abby back in a big way.”
The “Dance Moms” docuseries started on the Lifetime network in 2011 and ended in 2019. Abby Lee Miller has been down but never out as she starts her new series this month. Abby has never been married and doesn’t have children, she sold her Pittsburgh dance studio and made some life-changing decisions.
At the time, Abby made a statement saying “Yes, it is true. It is very bittersweet for me, I sold my property,” and “I didn’t sell my name, I didn’t sell my brand, I didn’t sell… my life’s work. I sold bricks, mortar, cinder blocks, and an amazing dance floor that is still in mint condition.” Abby Lee Miller has been through the wringer but has come out stronger on the other side.
