Survivor 49 Players Returning For Season 50 Are
As a longtime Survivor fan, I don’t say this lightly: Survivor 49 delivered two players who felt destined to come back. From the early merge onward, Savannah Louie and Rizo Velovic dominated the screen in very different—but equally compelling—ways.
Survivor 49 Players
So when it was announced that they would be the two returning players from Survivor 49 on Survivor 50, I wasn’t surprised at all. Their stories felt unfinished, even after the finale.
Savannah Louie: A Winner Who Earned Every Step
Watching Savannah’s journey unfold on Survivor 49 was a masterclass in modern gameplay. She wasn’t just strong—she was strategic, aware, and fearless about making moves when it mattered. By the time the game reached the post-merge phase, Savannah had positioned herself as both a physical threat and a respected decision-maker within her alliance.
What really stood out to me was her four individual immunity wins, an incredible achievement that repeatedly forced the rest of the cast to adjust their plans around her.
Instead of hiding behind those wins, Savannah leaned into her power, using it to solidify alliances and gather information. She entered the finale with a clear understanding of her résumé—and she wasn’t shy about it.
Her defining moment came at the Final Four, when she faced off against her closest ally, Rizo Velovic, in the fire-making challenge. It was emotional, tense, and symbolic. Savannah won that challenge, securing her place in the Final Tribal Council and effectively ending Rizo’s game.
From there, she delivered a confident and articulate Final Tribal performance that earned her the title of Sole Survivor, winning the game in a 5-2-1 jury vote. Seeing her return for Survivor 50 feels like watching a champion defend her legacy.
Rizo Velovic: The Fan Favorite Who Fell Just Short
If Savannah was the season’s anchor, Rizo was its spark. From early on, Rizo brought charisma, humor, and unpredictability to Survivor 49. He played boldly, holding onto his hidden immunity idol longer than almost anyone expected! And using the threat of it as social leverage. Every Tribal Council he survived felt like an event.
Rizo’s social game was just as strong as his strategic one. He built genuine relationships across alliances. This kept his name off the chopping block far longer than logic suggested it should have.
Ultimately, his journey ended in fourth place, after losing the fire-making challenge to Savannah—a heartbreaking but fitting conclusion to one of the season’s strongest arcs.
Even without reaching Final Tribal, Rizo left a massive impression, and his return for Survivor 50 feels like a reward for a player who gave everything to the game.
Why Their Survivor 50 Return Makes Perfect Sense
Bringing back both Savannah and Rizo for Survivor 50 is a smart move.
Savannah enters as a proven winner with a target on her back, while Rizo returns hungry, experienced, and ready to finish what he started. Their shared history adds instant tension, and I can’t wait to see whether they align again—or become rivals.
If Survivor 49 introduced us to the future of the franchise, Survivor 50 is about to test just how legendary these two can become.
