Gabe Ortis is betrayed by the Tuku Tribe.
This week in Survivor Jeff started off the Immunity Challenge with the ‘Rice Negotiation. He wanted 4 players to not play for immunity from the vote. Instead the tribe offered their ‘Shot In The Dark’ for rice. As this had never happened before the offer was accepted.
With no player having their ‘Shot In The Dark’ Gabe knew he was on the chopping block with Genevieve that night. In an interview he said “I knew it was probably going to be 60% me and 40% Genevieve. Nine was going to be my bottleneck.”

The third member of the season 47 jury was named after the tribal council on Wednesday night.
“I thought if I got through nine, my path to the end was clear. The caliber of players I was playing with, they had every reason to vote me out when they did. Kudos to them.” he continued.
Early in the game he told Sue and Caroline he wanted to go to the end with them. He stated that he meant that, Realizing that after the Tribal Council, if the vote went differently; there would still be 4 Tuku members against the rest.
The remaining castaways thought that his snake comment was meant for Caroline; he told us they were mistaken. Teeny was who he was calling a snake. His reason was simple: Teeny knew Genevieve led the vote to get Sol Yi out; so he thought she would write her name down.
Gabe Ortis Clarifies His Snake Statement
When Teeny wrote his name down he thought “Damn Teeny you got some snake in you.” he stated in his interview. Conversations back at camp should be interesting between the remaining castaways over that statement. It could paint a target on Caroline’s back.
He felt when Kyle approached him before Tribal Council; that Kyle was trying to see if I had an advantage or idol to play that night. If I did I think he would have told the others and the vote would have pivoted to Genevieve.
He thinks if Kyke had not won immunity that week that the vote would have been between him and Kyle. Stating “I knew Sue would write Kyle’s name down as a rage vote. Genevieve, I believe, would have done it as well.”
“Caroline, also would have done it. She was feeling intimidated by Kyle at that point in the game. I would have voted for him. That would have given us 4 votes.” Feeling he could get the 5th vote the game would have changed..
As he left the Tribal Council he told Jeff he would be back. Explaining the comment he stated “That was totally spur of the moment. ” Continuing on that he added “If asked, yes I would come back, but I would not tell all my secrets.”
He would try to build closer relationships with others in the game earlier. Feeling that was his downfall this season; that would change if asked to come back to play the game of survivor again.
