Johnny ‘Bananas’ Devenanzio Talks The Traitors Murder
Johnny ‘Bananas’ Devenanzio is the only seven time winner of The Challenge. This year has been a very busy reality television year for him. He came second in ‘The House of Villains’ third place in ‘The Challenge USA’ and first murder on ‘The Traitors’

Bananas was not the only G.O.A.T. ( Greatest of all Time) from the Challenge, C.T. Tamburello was also on this season of The Traitors. Fans of these two G.O.A.T. were looking forward to seeing them on the show.
During his exit interview with Entertainment Weekly Johnny discussed his early demise on The Traitors and how he felt about the move. Dan Gheesling (Big Brother) and Phaedra Parks (Real Housewives of Atlanta) were the only true traitors at the time of his murder.
Although this wasn’t the first time Johnny ‘Bananas’ Devenanzio was eliminated early in a reality television game; the emotions he felt were different from both experiences.
On the Challenge his early demise was from a mistake he made.
The explanation was simple “I lost, I went home. It was my own fault.
” On The Traitors “I never got a chance to play. It’s unfortunate and annoying.”
Bananas sees the difference between both reality eliminations on The Challenge; he feels the early eliminations are not seen as threats in the game. On The Traitors; he feels that you are seen as a threat so murdered by the Traitors. He wears this as ‘A Badge of Honor’.
Devenanzio feels Dan Gheesling made an emotional decision to murder him first. Bananas think they are both different types of players. Although Dan is seen as a good strategic player on BB, he made an emotional move here.
Johnny ‘Bananas’ Devenanzio thinks in the long run he would have helped Dan Gheesling make it far in the game. His thinking here is he heard mumblings from others that he might have been a Traitor.
Both C.T. and himself have competed and won daily challenges over the past two decades keeping them both around could have added dollars to the prize pot.
After hearing about The Traitors Bananas admitted to not watching season 1. He also feels all the other reality television contestants were in the same boat. C.T. and Johnny did talk before entering the castle about the possibility of working together.
Both felt they, along with Trishelle, could have helped each other during the game. He thought if for no other reason they had the legacy of The Challenge to uphold. One has to admit it would have been interesting to see C.T. and him work together.
