Arie Luyndyk Jr. criticizes Cirie Fields’ win
Arie Luyendyk Jr., known from Bachelor Nation, recently appeared on the premiere season of The Traitors US. He was Faithful for most of the game but became a traitor near the end.
On January 18th Arie did a Q&A on his Instagram Story. Asked by a fan if he had spoken to Cirie after the finale aired. Although the season ended nearly a year ago the two are still at odds on how the end game went down.
His response was “She won it in a dirty way in my opinion but she has to live with that and that’s all I’ll say.” Let’s recap how this all went down.
Cirie Fields was tapped by Alan Cummings in the premiere episode, making her a traitor from the very beginning. She along with Cody Califiore and Christian de la Torre were the first traitors.
After Cody made some suspicious statements to certain Faithful he was banished at the roundtable. Cirie and Christian recruited Arie to join them as a traitor. He accepted thinking that if he did not accept he would be murdered.
He made it to the end with Cirie and two Faithful Quentin Jiles and Andie Vanacore. Here the four had the option to end the game. Arie and the two Faithful decided they wanted to end the game. Cirie did not want to end the game yet.
This move, by Cirie, had Arie reluctantly admitting to being recruited late in the game by The Traitors. He left the game. Cirie and the two Faithful ended the game after that.
After the reunion aired Arie Luyendyk Jr. said to US Weekly that Cirie did the following.: “She made it not about the game, who was a Faithful and who was not. She made it about who needed the money more and that changed the game.”
Cirie states to US Weekly her thought process. “It’s over. It could be done. We could be finished. I could split the money with Arie.” After deeper thoughts, Cirie changed her thinking.
“Wait a minute, but Arie just got on this train, like two days ago. I have been riding this train since day 1. Yeah, maybe I won’t split it with Arie.”
On his Instagram Story Arie said “If I would have won in the end I would have left the game with a clear conscience. Our deal (Mine and Cirie) was to split the pot all along.”
“I didn’t like her move. It was a risky move. I could have blown up the entire game and thrown her under the bus. I wanted to respect the game.” Arie continued on his story.
Asked by Andy Cohen about what Arie had said during his interview with US Weekly, Cirie kept it simple. She said, “He is a sore loser is all.” Cirie has not responded to his Instagram story.
