Rob and Corey represent on The Amazing Race
Rob and Corey may have come in third place but received first place in the hearts of many Amazing Race fans. Rob is the second racer in the history of the show to be deaf. The father/son duo brought light to the deaf and CODA communities.

This duo showed a loving, in sync and caring father/son relationship to the world.
Most fans underestimated this pair of racers due to the fact that Rob is deaf. They showed the world the sign language of communication.
There was also concern that because they were father and son Rob might override some of Corey’s decisions. Rob explained “We decided going into the race that we were partners. I would not pull the ‘Dad Card’ on his decisions.”
The duo finished each leg of the race in the top 5 positions with a first place finish in the last leg before the finale. They realized that any mistake, no matter how little, could be a million dollar mistake.
Fans watched Rob struggle with the trapeze part of the scramble but they caught up in the roadie scramble with all 3 teams there at the same time. The glass blowing competition gave them a little trouble.
The main issue they had was getting lost heading into the last roadblock. Corey admitted he mixed up the last two roads in the directions they were given. Although he acknowledged it at the time; he unfortunately forgot when it became important.

Rob and Corey stated in post race interviews “Our goal was to finish the race. Although it was bittersweet, we accomplished that goal.” Rob had his own personal goal of coming in first in a leg. That was accomplished as well.
Rob stated “The opportunity to be with my son was priceless. It was amazing! Thank you Amazing Race.”
The family started watching The Amazing Race in season 14. This season showcased a mother and son team ( Margie and Luke) Luke was deaf.
The support the father/son team received from the deaf and CODA ( Children of Deaf Adults) has been beyond impressive. Both communities state they are pleased with how their identity has been shown on the show.
