Joel And Garrett Breakdown 2nd Place On Amazing Race
Joel and Garrett finished 2nd in the Amazing Race. The friend’s road to the finale was the rockiest out of the 3 top teams. The pair sat down to discuss their journey and friendship on the show.
Joel And Garrett
No matter what stumbling blocks they ran into on the legs of the race they did it with smiles.
Joel and Garrett smiled and laughed at each challenge. This endeared them to the other racers, past racers and fans alike.
At times the pair found themselves at the back of the pack but mostly in third place. They had 1 first place finish in Sweden. No matter where they finished up it was with their endearing smiles on their faces.
Joel and Garrett entered the last challenge of the last leg first but they struggled with 2 of the kayaks which held the names of the height roadblocks. Although they looked at the two kayaks earlier they were certain at first they had them right.
The friends were surprised by the cheers they received when crossing the final finish line in second place.
They stated “All but 2 racers from our season were there. Past racers and fans were cheering us on as we crossed the line.”
Both families are fans of the show; both dreamed of racing on the Amazing Race. Joel and Garrett both served in the military together. The friends decided 15 years ago that they would race together. It just took them time to do it.

Both mentioned that they did not get into one fight or disagreement while racing. This is rare as it is a stressful game where one little mistake could turn into a million dollar mistake.
In one episode Garrett mentioned that winning the race would enable him to get a service dog for his daughter. Fans embraced this. The fan base wanted to help, some reached out on social media.
Joel started a fundraiser for Garrett’s daughter. Their families are close, both have daughters that spent time in the NICU and PICU units. Their wives and children are friends as well.
