Daniele packed everything that she was able to and moved to the Dominican Republic to be with the man that she loved. That’s not working out so well right now.
Recently, Yohan said that Daniele is “a selfish person” and she countered his remark by saying “Every single thing you have came from me. That’s disgusting to even say.”
The couple has not been in step about finances since the beginning, Daniele claims that Yohan expects to be given everything from Daniele including housing and a new vehicle. Johan’s life experience has been that any man who marries outside of the D.R. is expected to be taken care of by the foreign wife. That was some of his friends’ experiences and what they believed to be true.
Currently, Daniele and Yohan are in a confrontation with each other about Yohan taking money out of the bank of Daniele’s bank account without telling her. Yohan said “You want to humiliate me over 4,000 pesos that I took from your card?” and Daniele replied, “No, it’s because you lied.”
Daniele continues to say “I can look it up right now, it’s more than 4,000 pesos,” and adds “Okay, this week there’s 2,000 here. So that’s one time, then Friday you withdrew two times. Another charge, another charge, another charge in one week,” Daniele continued and then pointed out other withdrawals for “3,000 [and] 5,000.”
Their cultures and the roles that a husband and wife play are so far apart that they may just continue to agree to disagree. Yohan continues his defense by saying “You’ll find everything you’ve withdrawn and blame me,” Daniele comes back with “How many times? It’s the 14th, 15th, 18th, 21st.
You’re saying I went to this bank every day?” Later, in the confessional Daniele stated “In total, Yohan made four withdrawals of $160, but this has nothing to do with the amount of money that he took out,” and added “I wouldn’t even mind him taking money out the bank if he needed it.
The problem is that I asked him if he took it and he said no. That’s where I’m really scared.” Daniele is right to be scared, if this were to continue, she could lose all of her money a little at a time. Yohan claims he bought food with it while she was away at a retreat. Not accepting Yohan’s explanation, Daniele exclaims “Are you kidding me? You didn’t because you had no food in the house. There’s a f—ing freezer full of meat and 20 pounds of rice at all times. Get the f— out of here.”
Yohan then said what he was thinking out loud and shouting “I’m a thief because I took 4,000 pesos from my wife?” and continued “When if I would’ve asked her, she wouldn’t have given it to me? You’re a selfish person. You only think about yourself.” He then went all in saying “You don’t provide for me,” and “I buy my food, I pay for rent here, I pay for electricity here. So do not fill up your mouth by saying you do everything for me.” Oh, snap!
Daniele came up with an ultimatum saying “Okay so then the first day of the next month, I need half the money for all the things in the house. If you don’t want to pay that, you need to live at your mom’s house,” Let’s see how that works out. Will Daniele stick to her guns or will Yohan convince her that he is right? Only time will tell.
