He opens with, ” When I was overweight I wasn’t feeling too great about myself. I had a serious binge-eating problem. I know there are a lot of people out there who do that and they just don’t talk about it and they try to ignore their problems. But you’ve got to face them.” Jake adds that he did have full knowledge of what he was doing. ” I knew what I was doing, I didn’t want to acknowledge it — I ignored it, I hid it.” Jake also shared

    What factor drove him to stop this eating habit? He says, “The day that everything, kind of, turned around for me … I’m eating in my car outside my parents’ house, my whole family’s inside. My mother comes out to me and says, ‘Jake, you don’t have to be embarrassed about what you’re doing. I love you no matter what.” Jake continues with tears in his eyes when he said, “And I just said to myself, ‘I’m not OK with this. I can do better. This isn’t how my life is meant to be. I can overcome this.’ And I did.”

    In this week’s episode which is titled, “I Don’t Want to Be the Worm” The castaways are quite hungry at this point since they have been there since Sept 27, on the island of Fiji, when the show kicked off for season 45. This week’s episode is called, “I Don’t Want to Be the Worm,” castaways are speaking about what foods are their favorites when they are home. One person from each tribe will venture out on a journey and have to make the decision to either eat food or an advantage.

    Early in the season, CBS shared a peek of castaways competing in a new challenge while Taylor Swift’s song “Mastermind” was playing in the background. During the preview, we see that contestants are walking along the beach, then jumping into the water and making fire for a challenge before they join a new camp.

    During a voiceover one of the castaways says, “I’ve watched every season of Survivor. This is strategic excellence on display.”
