Maci Bookout, one of the original cast members of the hit reality TV show “Teen Mom,” recently opened up about her salary on the show. During a recent interview with Adam Newell from the YouTube channel Up and Adam!.
She also shared some thoughts about her future.
Maci was very open when it came to speaking about her salary, even though she does not reveal the amount we can be assured that it is substantial enough for her and her family. She tells Adam, “Obviously, the pay is great. I feel like I’ve invested very well. Like, if I wasn’t on the show tomorrow, it would be like, ‘Dang, that’s a loss’ but we would be totally OK. Like really OK.”
Maci feels that the Teen Mom cast is more stable than any of the stars on Bravo. “You could be gone, you could be cut so fast [on those shows]. I will say it’s a little more comfortable on our show, because, even though it’s an ensemble cast, we don’t live near each other and see each other all the time.” She continues and brings up the fact that everything we see during the show actually does occur even if it’s not being filmed, She said, “For the most part, everything you see on the show is everything that would have actually happened without the cameras there. For us, it’s our real life, and then when we get together, it might be something fun or special. It might be a little bit of drama, but it’s still us just talking about our real lives.” There might be a future for Maci to have her own show. She is a wonderful business woman and she is presently partnered with her husband Taylor running a successful business.
Adam asked her what she thought of herself having her own show. Maci did not say yes or no but the possibility would depend on which direction it was going. She said, “I think it really would depend on the direction of it all. Because for me, truth be told, the drama that I bring really just has to do with co-parenting and just raising kids. So I’m not sure we would be able to…hold something down on my own, unless people wanted to just see, like, crazy schedules, kids, chaos-type of thing. I wouldn’t be against it, but I know sometimes when there’s not a lot there, producers have a job [to make a show]. It’s one of those [things] where I like to be able to share what I’m going through and not feel like, at the end of the day, the cameras and the production of it have literally started a fire and then bailed. But I still have to live with the fire. It would be worth a conversation.” Those are great ways of describing what would be involved in having her own show especially when it comes to her children’s involvement.
Some of her fans argue that Bookout’s salary is well-deserved. They highlight the fact that being part of a reality TV show exposes individuals to intense scrutiny and public judgment. Additionally, they argue that Bookout’s role as a mother and her journey through parenthood is relatable to many viewers, making her story valuable.
Whether or not Bookout’s salary is justified is subjective. Reality television has become an integral part of our entertainment industry, providing audiences with an escape from their own lives while offering glimpses into others’. As long as there is demand for these shows and people are willing to tune in week after week, individuals like Maci Bookout will continue to earn significant sums for sharing their lives with us.
