Megan Rapinoe is at the very height of her successful soccer career and has big plans after she leaves the sport as a player. Right now, the FIFA Women’s World Cup is continuing to compete with the United States set to go up against a yet to be determined team on Sunday August 6, it was a draw Portugal 0 US 0 Tuesday’s bout. New Zealand hasn’t been the dream that the US Women’s Team is hoping to make their wins a three-peat, which has never been done in a men’s or women’s world cup championship. The US Women’s team barely made it to the next level after the draw with Portugal.
The next step of winning three world cups is a near impossible dream unless the US steps up. In the meantime, Megan Rapinoe is trying to lead her team to one more championship while making it her last hurrah.
After the World Cup is over, Megan is ready to start her new life with fiancé WNBA player Sue Bird.
The couple has been together since the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil and revealed their engagement in 2020. Sue Bird has already played her last professional game of basketball at the end of the 2022 season.
The next step is domesticity where the couple has just completed their beautiful newly designed two-bedroom second home in the SoHo section of New York. The busy couple could not be there for the full design because of traveling back and forth to Seattle, Washington which is their primary residence. Rapinoe said in a recent interview that
“New York is a really special place to both of us,” and “Sue is from here. It feels like the place where we fell in love — it feels like home in so many ways.”
In Megan’s “Elle Décor Magazine interview, she said that “Whenever I think about retirement and the future, I think about our friends and family sitting on the couch, sharing joy with each other,” and the time is near. This month is the turning point for FIFA Women’s World Cup. Good luck Team USA!
