In just a few months, Survivor will be airing their 45th season. This season will continue to be in Fiji where 18 players will compete for the $1 Million and the title of Sole Survivor. One of the players is a returning castaway who really didn’t get to experience Survivor. If you haven’t seen the preview here it is courtesy of CBS Entertainment One f the players is Bruce.
Bruce competed on season 44 of Survivor and on the first episode of that season, he was medically evacuated from the game.
On Jeff Probst’s podcast, Jeff interviewed Bruce and announced that he would be returning to a future season. Now, at the time, we didn’t know it would be this soon.
As we wait for the premiere, here is what we can expect this season.
It has not been confirmed when the premiere episode of Survivor will be but Phill Kohgen who is host of The Amazing Race said that the upcoming season will be airing on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. Survivor and The Amazing Race are expecting to share the Wednesday night spotlight so it may be premiering on this date.
For the first time in the show’s history every episode up until the finale will be 90 minutes. The finale will continue to be two hours plus the reunion/after-show.
As always, twists will come to play and we all know from the new era of Survivor the Beware advantage will be in play. How it would work has yet to be determined.
What we do know is that a fan-favorite aspect of the game will be making a comeback. The Survivor Auctions. We saw a glimpse of this during the previews on Survivor 44 finale night. The last time we saw the auction was on Survivor 30 Worlds Apart – White Collar vs. Bule Collar vs. No Collar.
At that time the auction gave players tasty rewards and items from home but fans were upset that the players were waiting on game-changing advantages. Jeff was also upset and decided to pull this aspect of the show together but at the time never ruled it out.
One other twist fans may be seeing this season is a twist to the immunity challenge. Normally the losing tribe is the only tribe to go to Tribal Council, now this new one will see the winning tribes going to Tribal Council and sitting in on the discussion.
