Soap Star Andrea Evans Dies at 66
Widely known as Vicky Lord’s younger troubled teen sister Tina Lord on the soap opera “One Life to Live” and Patty Williams on “The Young and the Restless.” Evans also played on other television shows, but was known for being almost typecast as a troublemaker on the soaps that she starred in. In 1988 Andrea Evans won a Daytime Emmy award for “Outstanding Ingenue in a Drama Series” on “One Life to Live.” She was also a cast member on “Passions”, “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Bay.”
In the 1990’s Andrea left the public eye after abruptly leaving “One Life to Live.” Years later, she admitted to People Magazine that leaving the soap was due to a stalker and confessed that “It’s forever changed me,” and added “There’s no way it could not.” While starring on the “One Life to Live” soap, she married co-star Wayne Massey playing the role of country singer Johnny Drummond. The marriage only lasted 1981-1983, but he was quite popular with the “OLTL” female audience. Massey is now 76 years old.
Andrea Evans died of cancer on July 9, leaving behind a 19-year-old daughter Kylie Rodriguez. It’s unclear at this time what type of cancer that Andrea Evans was diagnosed with. Rest in peace.
