Singer Donny Osmond’s Family Life
Most baby boomers know who teen idol singer and performer Donny Osmond is, but most don’t know about his family life besides marrying his wife Debra as a young adult over 45 years ago in 1978. Osmond has been performing since he was a child along with his brothers and sister Marie.
Family is important to Donny and as he told People magazine, “That’s what balances my life out. Family is the most important thing, because the curtain will come down eventually, and then what do you have?”
Donny and Debra share five children, all boys, their oldest son is Donald Clark Osmond, 43. In an interview last year son Donny Jr. said that “My father puts his family first, and he has unique ways of expressing it — like his orchard where each tree is dedicated to each one of his grandchildren,” and added that “Next to entertaining, my father’s greatest gift is to show love, and he does that in a big way.”
It’s hard to believe that teen idol Donny Osmond is now a father of five and a grandfather at last count is 14. None of the Osmond boys followed their father’s life as a teen idol but some of them are in different realms of “show business.” The Mormon religion is all about family and that is what the Osmonds follow to fulfill their lives.
It’s good to know that there are some celebrities that are committed to their family, not that everything was picture perfect, but they rolled with the punches and have a family legacy to prove it.
